Hire me to do caricatures and facepainting

What better fun, crowd-pleasing way to earn money on the side, than to moonlight as a professional facepainter and/or caricaturist! I’m a graphic designer and illustrator who’s enjoyed doing caricatures and facepainting at corporate, non-profit and private events for the last 15 years.

You can also catch me most Saturday mornings in my little Likeness Ink tent at Eno River Farmers Market in Hillsborough.

Caricatures

I create kind caricatures from a pose or photo. Takes me about 7 minutes a person (a little longer to include the body and/or use color), as I like to capture more of a true likeness, than just make a standard goofy face.

Here are some examples of my caricatures:

Facepainting*

Takes about 4 to 6 minutes to actually paint, but add time to gently assist the child to get in and out of the director’s chair, and pose for a picture with the artist!

To develop my designs, I’ll often play around digitally first on my iPad in Procreate, using stock photos of children from Pixabay.

Then, I practice face painting on my arm (a LOT!):

*I use Fusion, Diamond FX, and Wolfe professional brand face paints, which are high quality, cosmetic-grade face paints. I adhere to best hygienic practices to keep my materials clean and I avoid painting on the eyelids and mouths of very young children (facepaint is not recommended for kids under 3, because they tend to rub their eyes and put their hands in their mouths).
