Animations

I started several years ago like everyone else in graphic design making little Flash animations for various corporate websites. The last few years I’ve begun to explore more in-depth animations from iMovie to Photoshop Motion to Character Animator.

I made the following animation entirely in Adobe Photoshop Motion of my own personal, much-loved pair of Sperry duck boots. These duck boots have taken me through miles of mud and dog poop. They are made with memory foam, so they clearly recall all our adventures together. Trouble is, they won’t share their memories with me.

Character Animator CC is something I began to explore in 2018. Here is the first couple attempts, made about my cat Emma Kitty:

Here again I’ve used Character Animator to create this Mark Twain spoof (please pardon the terrible Southern accent):

Here’s an iMovie I put together a few years ago when I was working at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham, N.C. It was to publicize the annual Dino Egg Hunt – I animated photos I’d taken of their life-size dinosaur replicas and created this little story:

Next is a short Father’s Day e-card I made primarily as a demo for my animation students, but please feel free to share!

So for the next one the sound could be louder, but what the heck. I’m starting to animate my doodles – might as well put them to work! Dedicated to my animation students.
